At LJH Counselling, you can discuss a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, grief, stress management, and more. We’re here to support you with any concern that’s impacting your well-being.
We offer a free 15-minute introductory session to help you get to know us better. During this session, we’ll discuss your needs and goals, and you can decide if our approach feels right for you.
Your first session is an opportunity to share your concerns and goals in a comfortable and supportive environment. We’ll work together to create a plan that addresses your specific needs, and you’ll have the chance to ask any questions about the process.
Yes, we offer convenient telehealth sessions, allowing you to receive counselling from the comfort of your own home. This is especially helpful for those with busy schedules or who prefer remote sessions.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapy that helps individuals process and heal from trauma. We offer EMDR sessions, both in-person and via telehealth, to support those dealing with PTSD and other trauma-related issues.
Standard counselling sessions are $120 per hour. If you’re referred through a GP as part of a Mental Health Care Plan, the fee is $150 per hour due to the additional admin work involved.
Absolutely. Your privacy is our top priority, and all information shared in sessions is kept completely confidential, in line with professional ethical standards.
The number of sessions varies depending on your individual needs and goals. We’ll work together to evaluate your progress and determine the best course of action as you move forward.
Yes, you can cancel or reschedule a session with at least 24 hours' notice. This allows us to offer the time slot to someone else who may need it.
Our Medicare provider number (1617081J) allows us to offer services under the Mental Health Care Plan.
For Private Health Insurance, please check with your provider to see if you can claim a rebate for counselling sessions. Many insurers now offer coverage for counselling services, and if yours doesn’t, it may be an option to add to your current plan—just keep in mind the applicable waiting period.
After two late cancellations (within 24 hours of your appointment) or no-shows, you will be charged the full fee for the missed session. Please note that Medicare rebates are not available for appointments that are cancelled late or missed without notice.
